Alpha Dial Privacy Policy

Alpha Dial is a remote control for Sony cameras that runs on Apple Watch and talks to your camera over Bluetooth. This page explains the small amount of information the app sends to us and what it never collects. It applies to Alpha Dial only and is read together with our general Privacy Policy.
What the app sends us
When Alpha Dial connects to your camera and the camera is ready to use, it sends a small technical report to our server. We retain only the camera model, camera firmware version, and connection method in that report:

As with any internet request, our servers receive the IP address the report comes from at the time of the request, but we do not retain it.
What the app does not collect
- Your name, email address, Apple ID or any account details. Alpha Dial has no accounts.
- Your location, contacts, photos, videos, or anything you shoot with your camera.
- Your camera’s Bluetooth address or serial number, or any persistent identifier for you, your watch or your camera. To avoid sending the same report twice, the app keeps a one-way fingerprint of the camera on your watch only; it is never included in a report or sent to us.
- Crash logs, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or anything used to track you across apps or websites.
Why we use it
We use the retained report information only for Mainbridge’s internal product improvement, such as understanding supported camera models, firmware versions, and connection methods. We do not use it for advertising, sell it, or disclose it to third parties for their own purposes. AWS hosts the reports on our behalf as our infrastructure provider.
Where it is stored
Reports are received and stored on servers we operate in Sydney, Australia, hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) on our behalf.
Your choices
Alpha Dial currently has no setting for turning the report off. Because reports contain no identifier for you or your device, we cannot identify or delete a report associated with a particular person or device. If you are concerned, write to us at the address below, or stop using the app; removing it from your watch stops all further reports.
Changes
If the information the app sends changes, we will update this page and the app’s listing before the change ships.
